Welcome to Asian Art Brief! I like to write about the visual arts of Asia, focusing mainly on East Asia – China, Korea and Japan.

I started this site in 2012, charting exhibits in the museums and galleries of Great Britain. Following a move to San Francisco in 2015, it has taken on a more Californian flavour.

In my professional life, I practised as a lawyer in London for several years, then studied Asian art at SOAS, University of London.
